Learning with the Twerbs involves hands on participation and rhyme, all activities are play led and based on real life situations, the children are fully involved in the stories, giving meaning to the tasks thus motivating the children to solve the problems.

The Twerbs act as a catalyst to promote learning by introducing concepts, physically demonstrating ideas and acting as a springboard to do written work.
Why Twerbs are unique!
Early years teaching is vitally important and, irrespective of the age of the student, the initial foundations need to be in place to allow all other learning to develop.
The Twerbs eliminate the fear of or rejection of learning, they make children feel special as they help the Twerbs to overcome everyday problems, the Twerbs just can’t function in our world without the children’s help and children love to help.

Twerbs are a social bunch
The Twerbs of Twerbly Green could easily be developed for TV, the internet and interactive games as well as traditional books and toys.
There is a Twerb for everyone to relate to and the ‘family’ can be expanded to suit any given situation as can the locations and settings.
The Twerbs can achieve just about anything. They can be techie with coding and more, they can help explain social situations and illustrate community values. Of course the Twerbs will need your help to do all this!

Even Twerbs have a mummy!
Janne Cutting-Keyton first thought of the concept of the Twerbs when her son was little. The Twerbs, although they weren’t called that then, helped her son with basic number work, something he found difficult because of his learning disabilities.
When Janne’s daughter arrived, some thirteen years later, the Twerbs took form and were named by her then husband John. Janne used the Twerbs to teach Ashley-Janne who used them as a springboard to excel.
Over the following few years Janne was a Teaching Assistant at her local Primary School, she used the Twerbs in class with children who needed help with a particular aspect of their learning.
In early in 2015 Janne retired from her role in school and is now looking to work in partnership with people who will take the Twerbs forward.
